The DJI Mavic 3 Classic.

DJI just released a new drone, the Mavic 3 Classic.

The DJI Mavic 3 Classic comes with the same 4/3 Hasselblad camera as the original Mavic 3, but lacks the telephoto lens. The Hasselblad camera is capable of capturing up to 5.1K at 50fps, 4K at 60fps, and 1080p at 60fps using H.264 and H.265 encoders. In addition, it can capture slow-mo videos at 4K/120fps and 1080p/200fps.

The Hasselblad camera also has an adjustable aperture spanning f/2.8 to f/11 for 12.8 stops of native dynamic range. The Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution directly outputs photos and videos with accurate colours.

Other specs include a flight time of up to 46 minutes, 03+ transmission system for displaying 1080p/60fps video at a range of up to 15km, ActiveTrack 5.0 system to recognise subjects and lock them in frame, QuickShots shooting modes, support for timelapse, hyperlapse and panorama shooting styles, Cruise Control feature to set a constant flight speed so that you can focus on shooting while reducing camera shake, and quick image/video download directly from the drone to a phone over Wi-Fi 6 at speeds up to 80MB/s.

You can purchase the DJI Mavic 3 from the company's website and authorised retail partners in three different configurations:

  • Classic (Drone only with no remote controller or charger) for US$1,469
  • Classic with charger and DJI RC-N1 remote controller for US$1,599
  • Classic (DJI RC) with charger and DJI RC remote controller for US$1,749

You can purchase the Classic Fly More Kit with two batteries, a battery charging hub, 65W car charger, three pairs of propellers, and a carrying bag for US$649. In comparison, the Mavic 3 is available from US$2,049.
