It’s going to be a good year for Marvel fans.

Disney just announced release dates for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and the Mandalorian Season 2 - which will all start to premiere from August 2020 onwards on Disney+

Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the news on a Disney earnings call. According to him, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier will kick things off in August, followed by a second season of the Mandalorian in October. Wandavision will cap off Marvel Studios' 2020 in December.

While this means that we won’t get any of these shows until August, it also means that August to December is going to be jam-packed with new content this year.

Iger also mentioned that The Mandalorian will run beyond season 2, with, "the possibility of infusing it with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series." It seems like characters appearing in upcoming episodes of the Mandalorian might get their own shows in the future.

On the Marvel side of things, Iger made a note of saying that these shows will connect to upcoming films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that there are more shows planned besides just these two and Loki

Iger said:

There are seven other Marvel series in various stages of development or preproduction.

If you missed it, several Marvel TV series were recently teased at the 2020 Super Bowl - and we dissected the trailer here. You can also read up on all the shows Disney has planned for its streaming service here.
