Disney+ added nearly 8 million paid subscribers in two months

Disney continues to attract many subscribers to pay for its video streaming service.

In its recent quarter-earning report, Disney shared that there are 57.5 million paid subscribers for its video streaming service as of 27 June. This is a jump of 7.5 million from the 50-million subscriber base it reported in April!

When Disney+ was launched in November 2019, the company aimed to get 60 to 90 million subscribers worldwide by 2024. If Disney+ is able to maintain the momentum, it is very likely to achieve the lower end of the four-year target by end of 2020.

There are rumours that Disney+ is launching in Singapore soon as both Singtel and StarHub have ceased to provide Disney channels owing to difficulties coming to an agreement with Disney.
