Devialet’s Phantom Reactor now comes in Matte black

Just short of a year since the launch of their Phantom Reactor, Devialet’s back again with a new colour option. In fact, it’s the only Phantom speaker that comes in something other than white. Apparently, the new Matte Black Reactor was coated in multiple layers of a specific black so as not to affect the acoustic requirements.

The final product is a Reactor that “disappears into your surroundings” while keeping you immersed in sound. Nothing has changed in terms of acoustics from the original Phantom Reactor though, so everything we noted in terms of acoustics then applies here too.

The Matte Black comes with the same key technologies:

  •  Analog Digital Hybrid (ADH) – Devialet's core innovation in sound amplification, which combines the sophistication of Class A analogue amplification with the power and compactness of Class D digital technology.
  •  Speaker Active Matching (SAM) – an algorithm that ensures perfect control of the mechanics of the speakers for higher acoustic fidelity;
  •  Heart Bass Implosion (HBI) – the revolutionary acoustic process that emits bass sounds with phenomenal depth and physical impact.
  •  Active Cospherical Engine (ACE) – the design that allows the speaker to reproduce sound and diffuse its energy linearly in all directions.
  • Regular updates to keep the speaker from ever being obsolete.

The Phantom Reactor in Matte Black is available now from all authorized retailers at same prices as the usual Phantom Reactor: S$1,890 for the Phantom Reactor 600 and S$2,390 for the Phantom Reactor 900.
