DBS Bank has rolled about DBS QR Gift in celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which falls on 5th June. The QR Gift allows a DBS Paylah! user to “load” desired cash value onto a unique QR code. This unique solution will eliminate the need for physical cash and still preserve the tradition of giving and receiving green packets.

The DBS PayLah! user can choose to load up to a cash value of S$999 onto the QR code that’s printed on the DBS QR Gift card. The QR Gift card is then presented to friends and families who can then scan the QR code with their own DBS PayLah! app to receive the cash gift. Limited quantities of DBS QR Gift cards will be distributed to customers who visit all DBS and POSB branches island-wide. DBS Treasure customers have to collect the cards from DBS Treasure Centers. As an incentive to use of this innovative platform, there are daily cash prizes to be awarded to eligible customers from 5th June to 4th July. In addition, there’s also a grand prize of $8,888 to be awarded to the customer “with the highest cumulative number of qualifying transactions from 1st June to 4th July”. The DBS QR Gift cards are valid for use from 18th May 2019 to 2nd August 2019; funds not redeemed by 2nd August 2019 will be credited back to the givers. DBS QR Gift was actually piloted earlier this year in the form of DBS QR Ang Bao during Lunar New Year.
