The Dark Lord of the Sith gets his own limited edition PS4

While we think the design is awesome, we wished that it incorporated the PS4's status indicator (the blue line in the middle of the image) better. It just looks awkward when the PS4 is running, like in the image.

With the Force set to awaken later this year, Star Wars is slowly but surely creeping back into pop culture relevance once more. Never one to pass up a good chance for more merchandise, Sony and Disney have unveiled the latest in limited edition PS4s; the Star Wars Limited Edtion PS4.

Unlike the Metal Gear Solid bundle, the Star Wars PS4 console will be in black, just like the original PS4s, although with a Darth Vader design on it. There'll also be two different sets of the bundle.

Each bundle will contain the limited edition console and controller, as well 4 Star Wars Classics. These are older games released during the PS2 and SNES era, ported to the PS4 with enhanced visuals and trophy support. The games are Star Wars: Racer's Revenge, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, all originally for the PS2 and Super Star Wars, which was originally released for the SNES. There's no word yet on whether the Star Wars Classics games will be released separately later on the PS4.

A closer look at the controller. Notice the repeating Star Wars lettering on the touchpad. It's also present on the limited edition PS4.

Another view of the controller. Like most of the custom controllers bundled with limited edition PS4s, don't expect the Star Wars controller to be available for purchase outside of the bundle.

Depending on what bundle you get, you'll also receive either the Deluxe Edition of Star Wars Battlefront or a copy of Disney Infinity 3.0 with the Rise Against the Empire pack.

The version of Disney Infinity 3.0 that's bundled with the limited edition PS4 doesn't include the Twilight of the Republic pack, which are a set of levels set during the Prequel Trilogy.

There's no word yet on whether the bundles will come to local shores but seeing as how most of the limited edition PS4 bundles do go on sale locally, there's a big chance these will too.

One other interesting thing to note; the PS4s in the bundles are all the CUH-12000 models, which are supposed to be lighter and use less power than the older PS4s.

They'll go on sale in the US on November 17th, though Sony's still not revealed their pricing.
