D-Link's newest Wi-Fi security camera uses AI to intelligently classify motion detection so that users only get alerts that matter.

Their latest Wi-Fi security camera is called the DCS-8330LH and let's get over the basics first before talking about its AI features.

For a start, it shoots at Full-HD up to 30fps, and it has a fairly wide 151º field of vision. Built-in IR LEDs allow it to capture footage in low-light or even darkness of up to 5 metres. It also has two-way audio.

If you are trying to build a smart home, the DCS-8330LH works with Google Assistant, Alexa, and IFTTT.

There's a couple of ways to review footage. You can use the mydlink app to see live footage or you can save video directly to a microSD card. You can also save recorded footage to the cloud with a mydlink cloud recording subscription.

Alright, now on to the AI features. The DCS-8330LH features what D-Link calls IVA (Intelligent Video Analytics), which enables the camera to do a couple of neat things.

First of all, it's able to identify people. For owners of landed properties, it means the camera won't ping you every time a car drives pass or your neighbour's cat wanders across your gate.

And using the mydlink app, you can set up multiple zones to monitor. You can even setup boundaries to create off-limits zones of the home so that you get alerts if someone trespasses, say, your room.

As for security, the DCS-8330LH uses WPA3 and videos and audio are streamed using 128-bit AES encryption.

The D-Link DCS-8330LH Wi-Fi security camera is available now exclusively at Challenger and Hachi.tech and is priced at S$149.
