D-Link’s first-ever Wi-Fi 6 USB adapter goes on sale in SG
D-Link’s Wi-Fi 6 USB adapter is now available in Singapore.
According to our local D-Link friends, the DWA-X1850 adapter officially retails at S$89, and it can be found at Challenger and Hachi.tech until 31 August 2021. Then, from 1 September 2021 onwards, the adapter will go on sale at other retail outlets and online web stores.
The DWA-X1850 is both the world’s first and D-Link’s first Wi-Fi 6 USB dongle, granting compatibility and connectivity to networking devices offering 802.11ax Wi-Fi. It supports up to 600Mbps (2.4GHz) and 1,200Mbps (5GHz), living up to its AX1800 namesake.
The dongle uses a thumb drive form factor for portability, and it comes with WPA3 wireless security encryption for network protection. For extra convenience, the dongle is almost plug-and-play: you’ll only need to stick it into a USB 3.0 port and the pre-loaded drivers, click about, and they’ll install. The dongle also has built-in MU-MIMO technology to make its wireless uptime more robust even in crowded hotspots.
If you don’t have access to an AX Wi-Fi point, no worries - the DWA-X1850 adapter is also backwards-compatible with older Wi-Fi profiles despite being designed for AX connectivity.
