D-Link launches its first wireless indoor/outdoor camera kit ahead of IT Show 2019

The D-Link DCS-2802KT.

D-Link has announced its first 100% wire-free kit. It's called the DCS-2802KT and it comes with built-in lithium-ion batteries that provide months-long battery life.

The DCS-2802KT comes with two cameras and a hub. The cameras are compact, measuring just 8.5cm tall and 6.6cm wide. They are light too, at just 240g, making placement a cinch.

The cameras feature a 2-megapixel CMOS sensor and can record at 1080p and 720p. They also have built-in infrared LEDs to shoot up to 7.5 meters away even in complete darkness. They also have built-in motion detection and microphones. The cameras were designed with low power consumption in mind so a full charge can last up to a few months.

The cameras work in conjunction with the DCS-H100 Wi-Fi hub. This hub manages all the cameras and connects to your network either via Ethenet or Wi-Fi.

The hub has a siren, which can be configured to sound whenever the motion detectors are alerted and it has a microSD card slot to record footage. The entire setup can be managed using the mydlink app remotely, and can also be configured to work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

The D-Link DCS-2802 wireless camera kit is available now and is priced at S$599.
