D-Link launches one of market’s first DHD-131 Wireless Display (WiDi) Adapter : Stream HD contents from a laptop to a HDTV

D-Link today announced the latest DHD-131 Wireless Display (WiDi) Adapter. One of the first devices in the market to feature Intel Wireless Display technology, which is a system for streaming high definition video content from a WiDi-enabled PC or laptop to a HDTV via the WiFi network, without the need for any cables.

WiDi streams HD content wirelessly via WiFi

Designed to connect to a high definition display without the need for any cables, the DHD-131 adapter plugs into the HDMI port of the display. Using a secure WiFi technology equipped with WPA/WPA2 security features, high definition content such as videos, movies and music is instantly streamed on the TV screen. Using H.264 compression technology, 1080p video is streamed at 30 frames per second.

Besides surfing the web and sending emails, data files such as photos that are stored in the laptop or storage devices can also be viewed. The DHD-131 also offers clone, extended desktop and remote flexible display options with multilingual support.

Availability

The D-Link DHD-131 is expected to be launched in Singapore in quarter three 2011.
