Creative has announced the SXFI Trio, a triple driver USB-C in-ear headphone that comes packed with the company's signature Super X-Fi Gen2 holographic audio technology. It works with both Android devices and PCs, and is based on the same hybrid triple-driver configuration behind the popular Aurvana Trio

Comprising two balanced armature drivers for detailed mids and highs and what Creative calls a bio-cellulose driver for the low end, the SXFI Trio is tuned for clear, balanced, and natural-sounding tunes. Its custom-designed Kevlar USB-C cable is built for improved tensile strength, and is wrapped in an aluminum and copper shield for improved durability.

That said, the headlining feature is still its support for Super X-Fi, a first for such a tiny pair of in-ears. It's implemented through the attached in-line SXFI Wire, a version of the original SXFI Amp that is 40 per cent smaller. Super X-Fi serves up an impressively wide soundstage, so you can get the sense of a more spacious room and speaker system from a much more compact package.

There's an in-line microphone too, and Creative says voice calls can also benefit from Super X-Fi by creating the impression that the caller is in the same room as you. The SXFI Trio is compatible with most Android phones, but the company says that there may be issues with certain devices, such as those from Samsung, that implement USB-C differently from the Android standard. In these cases, the mic will not work, although music playback remains unaffected.

The earbuds themselves are angled for better comfort over long hours, and they ship with six different sizes of silicone ear tips to help you find a snugger fit.

The SXFI Trio is available to buy now on Creative's website at S$199
