Crazybaby says its good-looking Air also sounds better than other wireless earbuds

Wireless is the future, even for earbuds. Beside Apple’s still missing in action AirPods, we’ve seen a flurry of true wireless earbuds (i.e., there’s no wire between the two pieces) in the market in the past year, such as Bragi’s Dash and The Headphone, Samsung’s Gear IconX, Erato’s Apollo 7, and Jabra’s Elite Sport - just to name a few.

Another that’s on the horizon is the Crazybaby Air. A pair of wireless earbuds that has been available for pre-order on Indiegogo for quite a while now and due to ship in January, the Air claims to be the first such device to use carbon nanotube technology, which enables its small size and ability to squeeze in a 5.2mm speaker driver.

Using CSR’s latest audio SoC (not the CSR 8670), with an embedded TWS (True Wireless Stereo) chipset and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity, this sleek wireless earbuds is also water-resistant (IPX6), and comes with a charging case (uses USB-C) to provide over 15 hours of listening time (a single charge lasts 3 - 4 hours). Also included are enough silicone eartips and sport sleeves for a secure fit in just about any ear.

Control-wise, answering calls, activating voice assistant (it even works with Amazon’s Alexa), and controlling of music playback can all be done with the Air, usually via a series of presses on the earbuds’ lone button. There are also free iOS and Android apps that allow you to customize your EQ.

Crazybaby Air’s Indiegogo campaign is due to end in 4 days (the goals were met long ago), so you’ve to act fast if you want to take advantage of the offer price. The US$89 early bird price was long gone, but the US$109 Super Early Adopter price is still available, and this comes with a 1-year warranty and free worldwide shipping. Because Crazybaby has hit its US$1.5 million target, there are now five colors to choose from: white/blue, black/red, lava orange, volt, and space gray. If everything goes according to plan, the Air is expected to ship in January 2017.
