Corning unveils Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with better drop protection

Corning just announced its latest glass innovation, the Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is made with a new glass composition which offers improved drop performance on rough surfaces such as concrete, while having the same level of scratch resistance.

Corning claims the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 survived drops of up to 1m on a concrete-like surface in lab tests. On asphalt-like surfaces, the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 could survive drops of up to 2m.

Multiple customers are currently evaluating the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Corning says it is expected to hit the market within the next few months.
