Corning just introduced its latest breakthrough in glass technology, the Gorilla Glass Victus. The Gorilla Glass Victus is said to have significantly improved drop and scratch performance compared to aluminosilicate glasses from rival brands.

Corning claims that the Gorilla Glass Victus achieved drop performance of up to 2 metres when dropped onto hard, rough surfaces in lab tests. In comparison, other aluminosilicate glasses generally fail when dropped from less than 0.8 metres. When compared to the Gorilla Glass 6 and other aluminosilicate glasses, Gorilla Glass Victus has up to 2x and 4x better scratch resistance respectively.

The Gorilla Glass Victus can be used for the front and back of all electronic devices including smartphones, tablets, wearables, cameras and smart home devices. Samsung will be the first customer to use Gorilla Glass Victus in the near future.
