Corel Acquires Roxio and Launches New Photo Editing Software

Corel has completed the acquisition of Roxio from Rovi Corporation. The move expands Corel’s portfolio to include Roxio’s broad range of digital media and security solutions. This includes products such as Roxio Creator and Roxio CinePlayer DVD Decoder. 

In addition, after having released a video editing suite a few months back, Corel has also announced the release of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6. This product features advanced open type support, native 64-bit functionality, built in color harmonies and enhanced multi-core support.

Powerful tools for creativity and design, the new CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 is targeted at those working in fashion and apparel, wide format printing and marketing. The suite includes CorelDRAW X6, a vector-illustration and page-layout application. Corel Photo-Paint 6 is an image-editing application while Corel PowerTRACE X6 is a utility to convert bitmaps into editable vector graphics.

Besides other tools also included, users will also be given access to 10,000 high quality clipart images as well as 1,000 OpenType fonts such as Helvetica. The whole CorelDRAW Graoics Suite X6 will be available for approximately S$780.
