Cooler Master has announced the launch of a new and super compact ATX chassis. The MasterBox Q500L is quite a bit smaller than most other ATX cases, measuring just 386 x 230 x 381mm. Still, it holds up to seven expansion slots and has room for a 240mm radiator at the top.

The Taiwanese company's MasterBox series has generally focused on offering greater modularity and choices to users, and the new Q500L isn't much different. For example, the thumbscrews are rubberized and can double as case feet, which allows you to stand the case up vertically or lay it flat. That's pretty nifty, and you can also move the I/O panel to one of three positions to keep it accessible, depending on your setup.

On top of that, the PSU bracket is adjustable as well, and you can shift it up or down to accomodate different radiator and graphics card clearance requirements. It's located at the front by default, and there's a cutout in the front panel for the power cord. This is partly possible because the bracket lets you install the power supply vertically, which helps save space. However, if you install a mini-ITX motherboard, you can also move the power supply to the back for a more conventional layout.

Air flow was also clearly a priority when designing the case, and it features fully perforated top, front, rear, and bottom panels. These have filters held in place by either magnets or rubber stompers, so you can keep the dust out. A wide array of fan configurations are supported, and there's room for two 120mm or 140mm fans up top, one 120mm fan at the rear, and two 120mm fans at the bottom.

The MasterBox Q500L offers between 27 and 30mm of cable management space behind the motherboard tray, which is pretty generous. The storage mounting points are at the back as well, where there are two storage caddy that can each hold either two 2.5-inch SSDs or one 3.5-inch HDD.

Finally, the case boasts an edge-to-edge tempered glass side panel to show off its innards. Given that the entire Q-series of cases share one size, it is also compatible with past Q-series accessories, including handles, case feet, and panels.

The Q500L retails at US$59.99, but I'll update once there's news of local price and availability.
