ComfortDelgro and Uber are exploring a possible partnership

ComfortDelgro entered into exclusive talks with Uber Technologies for a possible tie-up, according to a report by Reuters.

Singapore’s biggest taxi fleet and operator signed a letter with the private car hailing app for private discussions, citing that the potential alliance may see collaboration in fleet management and booking software solutions. One such example given by Comfortdelgro is that their fleet could be made available via the Uber app.

However, ComfortDelgro also told Reuters that there’s no certainty that the talks will culminate into a definitive agreement, and has declined to provide further comments on the potential partnership.

This move brings the fight to Grab, who currently has 95% market share as a third-party taxi hailing app, and 71% market share for private car hailing in the SEA region.
