Chat migration from Android to iOS is coming soon to WhatsApp

Android users may soon be able to transfer their WhatsApp chat history to iOS. 

Spotted by WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.2.74 adds the option to import chat history from Android. It is important to note that the "Move to iOS" app is required to migrate the chat history.

WhatsApp has been working on chat history migration between iOS and Android for some time. In April 2021, WhatsApp was testing a feature to allow chat history migration between iOS and Android devices. In the following month, WhatsApp added an option to transfer chat history to a different number. 

During the its Galaxy Unpacked event in August, Samsung shared that WhatsApp users can transfer their chat histories when they switch from iOS to Android or vice versa. The feature is available first on the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 before coming to the other Samsung phones.
