There are people who don’t want their TV to look the same as everyone else’s, which is why Samsung makes lifestyle versions of their QLED TVs such as The Frame, The Serif and The Sero. And it looks like the company’s audio division is taking a page out of this playbook as it’s just announced a new music-centric lifestyle series soundbar that’s designed to blend in better with the home interior.

Coming under the new S series, this is an all-in-one soundbar wrapped in a premium black or grey fabric supplied by renowned Danish textile company Kvadrat. Three models are offered this year, namely the S60T, S50T and S40T, and they all use this premium textile.

Specs-wise, the S60T is the most capable of the trio. This is a 4.0-channel soundbar that has a built-in voice assistant and Acoustic Beam-enabled, up-firing side horn speakers that Samsung says are able to create a natural room-filling sound. The soundbar doesn’t come with a subwoofer, so if you want a 4.1 setup, Samsung recommends the 6.5-inch W500 wireless subwoofer.

Update, Jun 25: Samsung has confirmed that the HW-S60T (black) and HW-S61T (white) are priced at S$1,099 each. You can get either for as low as S$649 if you were to buy it with an eligible TV.

On the other hand, both the S50T and S40T are 2.0-channel soundbars with a very compact design. The main difference between the two is that the Bluetooth-enabled S40T lacks its two siblings’ voice assistant function.
