Casio's XJ-V2 laser & LED hybrid light source projector has a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours

Casio, a long-time proponent of using solid-state illumination (SSI) laser and LED light source technology to achieve power efficiency in projectors, has just unveiled the new XJ-V2 projector.

Capable of a brightness of 3,000 lumens (which is higher than its predecessor the XJ-V1’s 2,700 lumens), the XJ-V2’s biggest selling point is its lifespan of up to 20,000 hours, which is possible due to its hybrid light source. This is many times longer than typical mercury lamp-based projectors’ 3,000 to 5,000 hours lamp life. By going lamp-free and using a protective casing to keep the interior dust resistant, XJ-V2 users have no need to worry about routine maintenance brought about by wear and tear, thus contributing to a lower total cost of ownership and greater long-term cost savings.

Other specs of this 2.9kg projector include an XGA (1,024 x 768 pixels) native resolution powered by a DLP chip, a 1.1x manual zoom lens, and support for both analog (D-Sub) and digital (HDMI) inputs. There’s also an RS–232C control terminal.

The Casio XJ-V2 projector will be available at all Casio authorized retailers starting end December 2015 at a suggested retail price of S$899.

Green Label Certification in Singapore

Casio has also announced that lamp-free projectors from its ‘Slim’, ‘Standard’ and ‘Core’ series have now received Green Label Certification by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC). The certification reinforces Casio’s position as an industry leader for its series of affordable lamp-free Laser projectors that optimizes performance without compromising on environmental sustainability. The Singapore Green Labelling Scheme (SGLS), administered by the SEC, is Singapore’s leading environmental standard and certification mark awarded to green products that satisfy a stringent set of requirements towards ensuring environmental sustainability.

These are the Casio projectors that have attained the Green Label Certification:

  • ‘Core’ Series - XJ-V1
  • ‘Slim’ Series - XJ-A257 / XJ-A252 / XJ-A247 / XJ-A242 / XJ-A142 / XJ-A147
  • ‘Standard’ Series - XJ-M151 / XJ-M156 / XJ-M251 / XJ-M256
