Casio's first 'full metal' 5000-series G-Shock watches to be available here on 26 April
Announced just last month at the Baselworld watch fair, Casio's first ever 'full metal' 5000-series G-Shock watches will soon be available here in Singapore.
The two models are the silver stainless steel G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1 and the gold ion-plated G-Shock GMW-B5000TFG-9.
They will come with stainless steel outer and inner cases, a screw-down DLC-coated case back, Tough Solar power, Multi-band 6 radio atomic timekeeping, and also Bluetooth connectivity.
Apart from telling the time, these two new models will have the usual additional functions of other G-Shock watches like chronograph, timer, alarm, and world time.
With connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, the watches will sync with Internet atomic time servers up to four times a day.
The app will also enable users to easily configure settings like second time zone settings and alarms.
When connected over Bluetooth, the watch can also be used to ping the phone, helping absent-minded folks find their phones (assuming the phone is within Bluetooth range, of course).
Like all other G-Shocks, the new G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1 and GMW-B5000TFG-9 are shock-resistant and water resistant to 200 meters
The two watches will be available here on 26 April with the silver G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1 priced at S$799 and the gold G-Shock GMW-B5000TFG-9 priced at $949.
