Casio just dropped a new version of their wildly popular full metal square GMW-B5000 G-Shock.
The latest version is called the GMW-B5000TVA (no relation to the Marvel TVA) and it features a mech-inspired design and a full titanium construction. Because it's made mostly out of titanium, it's very light for a full metal square G-Shock.
There has been titanium version of the GMW-B5000 in the past but what makes this watch standout is that certain sections are bored out to reveal the resin component within that protect the watch's module. The surface is also protected with a diamond-like coating.
The watch is also decorated with text. Together with its very classic-looking positive LCD display, it gives the watch steampunk-ish vibes.
Functionally, this watch is no different from other GMW-B5000 watches. It is water-resistant to 200 metres, has chronograph and alarm functions, Multi-band 6 support, and it connects to your phone via the G-Shock Connected app for easy management and time-syncing. What you are really paying for, then, is its unusual construction and design.
Availability and pricing
The G-Shock GMW-B5000TVA is priced at S$2,259 and it is available now. You can find it at G-Shock boutiques around the island or on the G-Shock website but only for Casio ID members.
