2023 is a special year for the G-Shock Frogman because it marks the 30th anniversary of G-Shock's dedicated dive watch.

The first Frogman hit store shelves back in November of 1993 and it was designed to be a dive watch that meets the ISO 6425 standard for dive watches.

To celebrate the milestone, Casio is released a special limited edition Frogman called the GW-8230B-9ADR. If it looks somewhat familiar it's because it's based on the second-generation DW-8200 Frogman from the 90s, specifically the black and gold DW-8200B-9A.

The new model is a rather faithful homage to the original. Notable features include the bold Frogman wording in gold on the bezel, the "light" and "log data" gold labels on the right, and the large "G-Shock" and "Titanium" wordings.

In a nod to sustainability, the bezel and band are made from biomass plastics – a first for a Frogman watch. The case is titanium. The titanium caseback features an engraving of the Frogman logo. The logo can also be seen on the dial when the Super Illuminator light function is activated.

The G-Shock Frogman GW-8230B-9A is water-resistant to 200 metres and has features like Tough Solar, world time, chronograph, countdown timer, alarms, and the ability to measure dive times.
