Capcom removes Esports Festival Hong Kong from Capcom Pro Tour

As the recent civic unrest continues in Hong Kong. Capcom has announced that Esports Festival Hong Kong 2019 will not be a part of the Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) this year.

In a Capcom’s statement, the company made it clear that this was in no part the fault of the organizers of Esports Festival Hong Kong, Cyber Games Arena, but out of concern for the safety of the players and community.

Capcom continues by explaining that even if Esports Festival Hong Kong holds a Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition tournament, the winners will not receive any CPT points. The previously allocated points or prizes will also not be replaced.

This ultimately means that players will be missing out on the last CPT premier event this year, and may negatively affect some players within this region who were intending to earn CPT points by participating this event.
