Canon's newest laser multi-function printers are designed to maximize efficiency

Canon has today launched two new laser multi-function printers, the Imageclass MF515x and MF416dw. Coming under a new series in the Imageclass line, the MF515x comes with advanced features like embedded uniFLOW output management solution, optional barcode printing, and eMaintenance support.

To be more specific, both the MF515x and MF416dw support two-sided printing, mobile printing, as well as the ability to increase paper input capacity. Both printers sport auto duplex scanning feature, and the MF515x even allows a wider scan range of legal-sized documents with its platen glass.

In addition to Canon’s proprietary UFR II print language, the printers have built-in support for PCL and Adobe PostScript 3 print languages. With the optional paper feeder, they can be loaded with up to 800 sheets and 1,600 sheets of paper respectively. Other features include support for gigabit Ethernet and wireless connectivity and 1GB RAM.

Speed-wise, the MF416dw prints at 33ppm, while the imageCLASS MF515x offers 40ppm. The combination of toner and drum into an all-in-one cartridge system means easy maintenance for the user. For businesses with high print volume, a high-yield cartridge option that can generate up to 6,400 pages and 12,500 pages on the MF416dw and MF515x respectively is available. Restriction of user access for specific functions, tracking of print volume by department, and the ability to print confidential documents only when logged in are common control features on the MF416dw and MF515x. Additionally, the MF515x is capable of remote monitoring of printer status, and integration with the uniFLOW software platform for intelligent routing and print accounting, the latter of which is useful for a managed print environment.

Both models are now available at all Canon authorized dealers. The Imageclass MF416dw has a recommended retail price of S$799; while pricing of the MF515x is available upon request.
