Canon said to be considering smartphone partnerships

Canon might be the next camera brand to partner smartphone brands.

Digital Chat Station claims that Canon plans to partner smartphone brands. Although there is no mention of a specific partner, there are only a handful of smartphone brands which have not partnered with camera brands. They are ASUS, Google, Honor, Huawei, Motorola, Realme and Samsung.

We've seen camera brands inking partnership deals with smartphone brands in recent years. Xiaomi announced in May 2022 that it is partnering Leica for long-term smartphone imaging collaboration.

Oppo confirmed in February 2022 that it is embarking on a three-year partnership with Hasselblad to co-develop its camera technologies for the Find series flagship phones. Vivo and Zeiss entered a global partnership in 2020 to co-engineer an imaging system for the former's premium smartphones, starting with the vivo X60 series.
