Canon Releases Five PIXMA AIO Printers for the Home Office

Canon has announced the addition of five new PIXMA home office printers: the flagship PIXMA MX927 wireless all-in-one (AIO), PIXMA MX727 advanced wireless AIO, PIXMA MX527 and PIXMA MX457 wireless AIOs, and the MX397 AIO.

First launched during CES 2013, these printers are now officially launched locally with Asian-specific model numbers. The PIXMA MX927 and PIXMA MX727 utilize FINE (Full-photolithography InkjetNozzle Engineering) technology to print images of up to 9600 x 2400dpi using tiny microscopic droplets of ink as small as 1pl, while the PIXMA MX527, MX457, and MX397 have the ability to print images of up to 4800 x 1200dpi with droplets as small as 2pl.

All five new printers use a Hybrid system of inks to ensure optimal print quality for different situations. Black text is printed extremely clearly using Pigment black ink, while photos are printed with smooth and natural colour gradations using Dye inks. The PIXMA MX927 and PIXMA MX727 have the option of using a new XXL-sized Pigment Black ink tank, which is able to print an impressive 800 pages before requiring a refill. This is approximately 2.6 times more prints than a standard-sized ink tank.

The new printers except the PIXMA MX397 come with networking capability to directly access a host of printing options from the PIXMA Cloud Link (except for MX457) and Creative Park Premium services, without having to go through a PC. Once connected to these exclusive Canon services, a user can browse through a series of templates and stationeries through the printer’s LCD screen and print them immediately.

Also, by using Google Cloud Print, users can use their smartphones to control their printer and have their documents fully printed out. The Wi-Fi connectivity also allows printing of documents and photos directly from a smartphone or tablet, completely bypassing the need for a PC. Once the smartphone is connected to the printer, users can easily print photos from the device, or use the printer to scan a document or photo directly into the device.
