Nearly eight years after the Pixma Pro-100, Canon Australia has now announced a successor in the form of the Pixma Pro-200.

Still an A3+ photo printer targeting photographers who make their own prints, the Pixma Pro-200 uses a new 8-colour dye ink system with a maximum print resolution of 4,800 x 2,400 dpi, sports a 3-inch display, and supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet and PictBridge connectivity.

According to Canon, the 14.1kg Pixma Pro-200 supports a range of photo paper surfaces and finishes up to 0.6mm thickness. There’s also panorama-sized print compatibility and gallery wrap support.

Speed-wise, you’re looking at an A3+ bordered colour print in standard mode in about 90 seconds. In addition to professional printing from image editing software such as Photoshop and a linked EOS camera, the Pixma Pro-200 supports mobile printing solutions such as AirPrint and Mopria.

There’s no word on pricing and availability at the moment. We’ll let you know again when we hear more from Canon Singapore.
