In addition to super-fast A3 business inkjet printers, Canon has also updated its ink tank printer lineup with new Pixma Ink Efficient G models, namely the G6070, G5070, and GM2070.

Apart from the in-body ink tank design that we already saw in past G series models, the updated printers now offer automatic two-sided printing, higher paper feeding capacity (up to 350 sheets when both the front cassette and rear tray are used), and full network compatibility. Canon has also redesigned the refilling mechanism: there’s now no need to squeeze the bottle during the refill process and ink filling will stop automatically when maximum ink level is reached. ISO standard print speed in A4 is rated at up to 13.0 ipm for black and 6.8 ipm for color.

The G6070 is the highest-end model of the trio. This multifunction printer (print, scan, copy - no fax) supports both wired and wireless networking and has a 2-line LCD for status reports. It supports Apple's AirPrint protocol (Android users can use the Canon Print Service plugin) but you can also print and scan through the free Canon Print Inkjet/Selphy app. Canon is also providing a free PosterArtist Lite software that lets you make use of more than 1,300 pre-loaded templates, photos, and clip art to design a wide range of flyers and posters.

The G5070 is basically the G6070 without the scan and copy functions. Like the G6070, it has a 2-line LCD that gives you status information such as remaining ink levels, supports auto duplex printing, and offers wired and wireless networking.

Finally, the GM2070 is an ink tank + ink cartridge hybrid device. Designed primarily for those who print in black-and-white most of the time, its sole ink tank is reserved for black ink (one black ink bottle can print up to 8,300 pages, by the way). But it also has an ink cartridge slot, so whenever you need to print in color, you can just pop in a regular Canon color ink cartridge to transform it into a color printer.

The Pixma G6070, G5070, GM2070 are now available and are priced at S$439, S$289, and S$259 respectively.
