Canon PIXMA G series - High-volume printing without breaking the bank
Canon PIXMA G series ink tank printers - High-volume printing need not break the bank
The Canon PIXMA Ink Efficient G Series refillable ink tank printers let you focus on the tasks on hand instead of worrying about running costs.
The conventional wisdom is that if you print a lot of black-and-white documents, a laser printer is a better choice as it can save you a lot of money over the long run. But if your print volume is modest, an inkjet printer trumps in areas like better color definition and higher print quality.
But why can’t an inkjet printer offer high print quality and yet be economical when printing thousands of pages?
Introducing the Canon PIXMA G series
The new Canon PIXMA G series inkjet printers strive to be just that. Canon’s first refillable ink tank printers, the PIXMA G3000 and G2000 all-in-one printers are ink efficient printers designed for high-volume printing at extremely low running costs.
Refillable ink tanks for up to 6,000 B/W pages and 7,000 color pages
To dramatically increase print volume, the Canon PIXMA G series printers use refillable black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink tanks capable of printing up to 6,000 black-and-white and 7,000 color pages.
Since each ink bottle merely costs S$13.70, this means it only takes S$0.002 to print a black-and-white page, or S$0.006 to print a color page!
Compared to a typical inkjet printer that uses cartridges that cost about twice as much, but which just prints 400 pages, the PIXMA G series’ running cost advantage is obvious. In fact, the PIXMA G series printers also stack up well against expensive laser printers designed for high-volume printing. This is definitely music to the ears of business owners, because ink or toner costs can rake up quickly, especially so if you stock up on supplies in advance.
No sacrifice in print quality and speed
Because the Canon PIXMA G series uses inkjet technology, it retains inkjet advantages like high print resolution and superior photo quality. With a 2-picoliter ink droplet size and a maximum print resolution of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, you can be sure that your prints always look sharp.
Additionally, Canon’s Hybrid ink system is able to combine both pigment black ink and dye color inks, which means your photos look stunning too. And it takes approximately 60 seconds to print a borderless 4R photo. For documents, the PIXMA G series is able to achieve ISO print speeds of approximately 8.8 ipm for black and 5.0 ipm for color.
Designed for the modern mobile user, too
At S$239, the Canon PIXMA G2000 is a highly affordable all-in-one device with print, scan, and copy functions. For a hundred dollars more, you can get the PIXMA G3000, which is also a 3-in-1 device, but with added wireless LAN function and mobile and cloud printing solutions. To sweeten the deal, it also packs two additional black ink bottles.
With the G3000’s built-in Wi-Fi support, it’s a breeze to print from PCs, laptops, smartphones, and tablets, especially through Canon’s new PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY mobile app. You can also print from cloud services such as Facebook and Dropbox via PIXMA Cloud Link.
A compact printer that looks good wherever you place it
If you think that the Canon PIXMA G series printers are going to be big and bulky because of its high print volume capability and great number of features like the 100-sheet rear tray and 600 x 1,200 dpi scanner, think again.
At under 6kg, the PIXMA G2000 and G3000 are no heavier than the average all-in-one inkjet printer. Furthermore, Canon has designed an integrated ink tank system to prevent the ink bottles from protruding from the side, and in turn, keep the footprint small. What’s more, you can easily view the remaining ink levels from the front.
