Camera specs of Google Pixel 6 phones revealed

The camera specs of the Google Pixel 6 phones may have been revealed. 

According to XDA Developers, a source provided an unreleased, internal version of the Google Camera app which spills the beans on what could be the final camera specs of the Pixel 6 phones. By looking at the codes, it is determined that:

  • The Pixel 6 Pro may come with an ultra wide-angle front camera. 
  • The Pixel 6 Pro's selfie camera has two predefined zoom levels of 0.7x and 1.0x.
  • 4K video recording capability on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. 
  • The Pixel 6 Pro may only support 4K video recording at 60fps on the main camera, not the ultra-wide or telephoto camera.
  • 4K video recording at 60fps has a maximum zoom level of 7x .
  • 4K video recording at 30fps or 1080p at 30fps supports zoom levels of up to 20x.
  • 20x zoom is also applicable for photos.
  • There is an option to switch between the main, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses while recording a 4K video at 30fps. 
  • There could be manual white balance adjustment, magic eraser, face deblur, scence lock, timer light, motion blur, and support for Bluetooth microphone.

The Pixel 6 Pro was recently leaked in a hands-on video. The phone also made an appearance in a Taiwanese regulatory filing where it was hinted to support 33W fast-charging speed. Google's teaser ads for the Pixel 6 may have revealed the launch or retail availability of the Pixel 6.

Tipster Jon Prosser is confident that pre-orders of the phone will start on 19 October with retail availability slated for 28 October. Google also shared some details of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro and announced its proprietary Tensor chipset.
