Bose just released the successor to the four-year-old QuietComfort 35 II.

The new Bose QuietComfort 45 comes with an enhanced noise cancellation system and electronics package. Users can choose between two settings, Quiet and Aware.

In Quiet mode, the microphones inside and outside the earcups work together with a proprietary digital chip to filter out unwanted sounds in mid-range frequencies such as those in trains, busy offices and cafes.

In Aware mode, users can switch to full transparency where they can hear everything naturally, clearly and quickly without even taking off the headphones.

The new headphones boast a battery life of up to 24 hours and can charge via USB-C. A full charge will require two hours while a quick 15-minute charge can provide up to three hours of playback.

The QuietComfort 45 headphones will be available from 23 September for US$329.95 with pre-orders starting today at Bose.com and selected retailers.
