Chinese display maker BOE is said to have missed the chance to be an initial supplier of OLED panels for the Apple iPhone 15.

Sources told TheElec that BOE is struggling with light leak issues around the Dynamic Island section on its OLED panels. While BOE is making progress in fixing the problems, Apple could recruit it to supply OLED panels in the latter part of the year.

As a result, Samsung Display is believed to start manufacturing OLED panels for the iPhone 15 in May. This is a month earlier than its initial schedule. For the iPhone 15 Pro, Smasung display is still on track to start making the OLED panels in June. LG Display will also be supplying LTPO TFT OLED panels for the iPhone 15 models.
