BOE aims to supply OLED panels for the Apple iPhone 15 Pro
Chinese display maker BOE aims to be the supplier of OLED panels for the Apple iPhone 15 Pro.
According to TheElec, sources claim BOE wants to achieve this goal by applying low-temperature polycrystalline (LTPO) technology on the OLED panels it is building in its B12 factory in China.
The B12 factory is BOE's third-gen 6 flexible OLED panel factory that began phase 1 operations in Q4 2021. The second phase is believed to start sometime during the first half of this year and the third phase will begin during the second half of the year. Once fully operational, the B12 factory has a capacity of 48,000 substrates per month.
BOE currently supplies 6.06-inch OLED panels for the non-Pro iPhone models and is tipped to supply the same for the iPhone 14 lineup this year. Samsung Display and LG Display will continue to provide OLED panels for the Pro models.
