BMW has just announced that BMW Connected is now available in Singapore.

It will be available as a free app download from the Apple App Store and can be used in BMW vehicles with the optional extra "ConnectedDrive Services" activated.

Here's a video to show what BMW Connected can do:

The best way to think of BMW Connected is as a companion navigation app for your iOS devices.

Its primary usage is to enable easy input of destinations, and to manage your appointments and traveling times. According to BMW, BMW Connected automatically scans for any mobility-related information, such as addresses and times, and notifies users of the ideal time to start traveling.

These notifications can be sent to a users' iPhone or Apple Watch. In addition, it will even take traffic situations into account. So if there's heavy traffic to be expected, BMW Connected will notify users' to leave earlier.

BMW Connected can even take "last mile" traveling distances and timings into considerations, which is really clever and something not many navigation systems can do.

BMW Connected is powered by BMW's flexible platform called Open Mobility Cloud.
