Black Widow, Eternals and more Marvel movies have been delayed to 2021
Tenet will be the last blockbuster to hit theatres for quite a while.
Disney has just announced a slew of delays for their upcoming slate of movie releases, including movies set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First up is Black Widow, the superhero movie starring Scarlett Johansson as the titular Avenger. The movie was originally set to debut on November 6, 2020, but has now been postponed to May 7, 2021.
Watch the final trailer for Black Widow below:
That's not all, however. Eternals, a movie following an immortal alien race living on Earth has been delayed from February 12, 2021 to November 5, 2021. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, a movie about a skilled martial artist taking on The Mandarin has moved from May 7, 2021 to July 9, 2021. While The Eternals has already wrapped filming, Shang-Chi is still in the midst of production.
2020 marks the first year in over a decade to not see the release of a new movie set in the MCU - but after the events of Avengers: Endgame, perhaps a break from the franchise is for the best. To make up for that, four (!) movies set in the MCU will debut in 2021, including the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel.
Here is Disney’s upcoming slate of movies, with new release dates accounted for:
The Empty Man - October 23, 2020
Soul - November 20, 2020
Free Guy - December 11, 2020
