Alright, you know the drill by now. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Perseus, zombies and of course, the ever foul-mouthed Sergeant Frank Woods. All of that is coming out on Nov 13 - that's next Friday, so if you're keen on pre-ordering and subsequently pre-loading the game before it drops, you've still got ample time to do so.

However, you might already know that the PC version of the game isn't exactly modest when it comes to disk space, and neither is the next-gen console version, for that matter. Based on Activision's blog post, assuming you're getting the standard 1TB PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X (or S), this chunky kid is going to eat up a massive 133GB and 136GB respectively on its own - that's just slightly more than 10% of your disk space! Anyway, here's the full list of space requirements for reference.

  • PlayStation 4: 95GB
  • PlayStation 5: 133GB
  • Xbox One: 93GB
  • Xbox Series X/S: 136GB
  • PC: 35GB (MP Only), 82GB (Full Game), 125GB (Full Game on Ultra Graphics)

Granted, it's not as big of a space-muncher as the notorious Modern Warfare, which peaked at over 250GB of required disk space at one point, but do keep in mind that this requirement only refers to the base version of the game, and doesn't account for future updates, DLCs and patches. But while you mull that over in your head, here are the dates and times (in SGT) which you'll be able to start pre-loading the game on each platform.

  • PlayStation 4 and Xbox One: Nov 6th at 1 PM
  • PC: November 11th at 2 AM
  • Next-Gen Consoles: Pre-loading will be available on their respective launch dates.

In other news, you'll also be getting a bonus bundle with your digital pre-order: the Confrontation bundle, which includes two stylised rifle blueprints, designed to reflect the animosity between the two Cold War factions.

They are the Soviet-themed Iron Curtain and the U.S.-inspired Western Front rifles, and both firearms will be available for selection once you unlock the Create-A-Class feature in Multiplayer. Speaking from experience, that's usually around level 5, so it shouldn't be a daunting task even for an ultra-casual player.
