In conjunction with World Health Day today, BH Mobile, a subsidiary of Borderless Healthcare Group (BHG), is introducing healthcare apps starting this month.

These new apps will enable doctors to extend delivery of healthcare to patients beyond the confines of their physical clinics, allowing patients to reach their doctors without having to go down physically to the clinics for basic medical queries.

The apps - Smart Ageing, Heartsmart, and Health Abacus - are delivered on a mobile app platform named "Borderless Clinic", which is secure, certified HIPAA-compliant, and seamlessly integrated to medical devices and telemedicine platform approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration of the US). Developed at a cost of US$10 million, the system will equip doctors to deliver first-level seamless healthcare management to their patients via smartphones, tablets, etc.

Subscribers of the mobile clinic apps can get advice from global specialist doctors via phone, audio, or video communication. The doctors will be available according to their specified schedules. Users can also use data-sharing FDA-approved devices which can help them monitor basic indicators such as blood pressure and blood glucose levels, as well as use wearables and other accessories that are seamlessly integrated with the smart apps.

Both the Smart Ageing and Heartsmart apps are available for download from today, while the Health Abacus will be available by 15 April 2014. The apps, which can be downloaded from Apple's App Store or Google Play, are in English, and will be made available in other languages in time to come.
