Beyerdynamic launched a variety of new personal audio products, with two of them part of the studio-grade Pro X headphone series: closed-back DT 700 Pro X and open-back DT 900 Pro X.

The new Pro X series headphones pack Heilbronn-developed Stellar.45 drivers, neodymium magnets, and a copper-plated voice coil to deliver loud, powerful audio playback. In addition, both models offer two mini-XLR cables, velour earpads, memory foam headbands, and a steel bracket construction for durability and comfort combined.

Almost all parts of the new Pro X series headphones are replaceable, so there’s no need to throw out the whole set if you need to change a pad or cable.

As mentioned, the Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X has closed-back cups, making it suitable for on-the-go use, while the open-back Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X open-back nature makes it pliant to professional studio monitoring, mastering, and mixing.

Without their cables, the DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X weigh 350g and 345g respectively. Both share the same frequency response (5 to 40,000Hz) and gold plated stereo jacks (3.5mm with 6.35mm adapter), so it’s really a choice between open or closed-back design.

Official retail prices of the Beyerdynamic headphones are as follows:

  • DT 700 Pro X - S$399
  • DT 900 Pro X - S$399

Both headphones are available from end-November 2021 onwards at the official Beyerdynamic website and via its authorised distributors in Singapore.
