BenQ has refreshed their Mobiuz line of audio and visual-immersive gaming monitors, first released last year. The Mobiuz lineup of monitors separates itself from its competitors by including a few technologies not found in conventional gaming displays, namely BenQ's proprietary HDRi and treVolo speaker technology.

These features actually pre-date the Mobiuz line, for instance appearing in BenQ's EX2780Q monitor in Februrary of last year. HDRi utilises an integrated light sensor to detect ambient light, which, along with analysing on-screen content, BenQ claims will allow for more detailed HDR images. For example, with HDRi, the screen can display more subtle shades in dark regions of the monitor, while preventing overexposure in the brighter areas.

On the audio side, treVolo speakers utilise a 2.5W woofer and tweeter combination to provide what BenQ says is big sound for a thin display. The speakers do this by having a longer speaker cone along with a larger surface area, as well as dual voice coils and dual magnets to provide for more expansive sound with a faster reaction. The woofer also gets treated to a low distortion aluminum alloy cone and port design, allowing for bass expansion.

As for what's changed in the refresh, all new models have been upgraded to 165Hz from the previous 144Hz. The 24.5-inch EX2510S is the EX2510's successor, while the 27-inch EX2710 has been refreshed into three separate models:

  • EX2710S, a 1080p IPS monitor
  • EX2710Q, a 1440p IPS monitor with an additional 5W woofer
  • and the EX2710R, a 1440p, 1000R curved VA monitor with additional 5W woofer and HDR400 support

The refresh also sees the introduction of two new Mobiuz monitors:

  • EX3210R, a 31.5-inch 1440p 1000R curved VA monitor with additional 5W woofer
  • EX3415R, a 34-inch 21:9 1440p IPS monitor with additional 5W woofer

The new Mobiuz monitors are available on BenQ's Lazada and Shopee storefronts. The EX2510S retails for S$429, while the EX2710S, Q and R retail for S$459S$779 and S$839 respectively. The EX3210R retails for S$999, while the most expensive model, the EX3415R, retails for a whopping S$1,499.
