Belkin teams up with Devialet to create a smart speaker that’s also a wireless charger

The Belkin x Devialet Soundform Elite Hi-Fi Smart Speaker + Wireless Charger

Belkin has teamed up with French speaker specialist Devialet to create a rather unusual hi-fi smart speaker called the Soundform Elite Hi-Fi Smart Speaker + Wireless Charger.

Whew, what a long name.

Anyway, as its name suggests, it’s a high fidelity smart speaker that works with Google Assistant and it’s also a wireless charging pad.

The acoustic design is said to be all Devialet and the Soundform Elite uses Devialet’s Speaker Active Matching technology (SAM) and “Push-Push” woofer architecture that cancels out vibrations to reduce distortion and speaker vibration.

On top of the speaker is a disc that is a Qi wireless charging pad. It charges at 10W so it should fast-charge most devices.

I’m not sure how many people wished their smart speakers could also wirelessly charge their devices but I guess it must be enough for Belkin to want to create a product specifically for it. I could see it being a really cool bedside speaker.

The show floor was noisy so it’s impossible to for me to say anything meaningful about the speaker's sound other than it gets pretty loud.

The Belkin Soundform Elite Hi-Fi Smart Speaker + Wireless Charger will launch in the US in February and will be priced at US$299 (~S$404). No word yet on local availability and pricing but we will be sure to update this article once we get news.
