BeLive turns any place into a performing space

Are you an aspiring dancer, singer, musician, or comedian who’s just looking for a chance to shine?

Well, with the new BeLive app – any place is a stage for you to shine. Simply fire up the app on your phone or tablet, activate the app and you’ll be live-streaming to your audience in no time. The people at BeLive say their High Quality streams run at 720p, meaning a 30 minute session can easily take up 200MB of data, so we’d recommend streaming (or viewing) from a Wi-Fi connection.

You’ll also want to be recording yourself in a place with good lighting so you can be properly seen, and to interact with your viewers as they send comments and questions your way. BeLive says they have human moderators going through feeds 24/7 at the moment, so quality streams get pushed up to the front page and streams with dubious content get taken down quickly. You also have to be aged 18 and above to perform on BeLive, and that’s another step the moderators take to ensure that content is kept tasteful.

A range of virtual gifts can be purchased and sent to other users.

Besides getting a global audience to showcase your talents too, there’s also a financial pay-off for quality performers. Viewers can purchase and send virtual gifts to streamers, and these range from flowers to even mansions, with different gem values to each. (Gems are bought with real currency, ranging from $1.48 for 100 gems to $148.98 for 12000.) Unlike other streaming services, streamers on BeLive get to pocket 60% of the revenue from these virtual gifts, so the pay-off can certainly be substantial.

Real time feedback from other users is one of the highlights of the platform.

While still in the early stages (the app has only been available on the iTunes and Google Play stores since February), BeLive has already attracted 1000 unique streamers, with about 300 of them actively streaming at least once a week. The average stream earns about $20 to $30, but top streamers can earn about $400-$500 for a 30-minute stream, so besides providing you with a platform to showcase your talents, the app can certainly be a good way to get some income by doing what you love.

BeLive is available as a free download from the iTunes store and the Google Play store.
