Bauhutte's new Hand Massager is that piece of gaming gear we never knew we needed

For lack of a better term, this might actually come in quite handy for longer gaming and streaming sessions.

Love it or hate it, life is indeed full of surprises. You know, like when gaming equipment brand Bauhutte rolled out an actual gaming bed

Well, now they've gone ahead and created a Hand Massager too, and yes, it's already joined the list of gaming gear we never knew we wanted to have on our desks. Originally spotted by Gizmodo (thanks!) on Bauhutte's Japanese site, this rather quirky device, which weighs about 750g and measures approximately 18.5cm x 17cm x 10cm looks quite like a chunky oven mitten. Structurally, it features four slots for each of your fingers (your thumb usually rests on the side) and sports a total of fifteen air cushions. However, Bauhutte has added that you can also massage the base of your thumb (a common problem area) by inserting your hand sideways as shown below, so you're technically covered in that area too.

Much like your everyday massage chair, these air cushions can be programmed to execute different types of massages at varying levels of intensity, giving your tensed-up hands or fingers a good rub-down after a strenuous gaming session. Of course, it's not just gamers like us who stand to benefit - even regular office workers, streamers and corporate executives might appreciate having one at the ready to help ease those annoying finger aches.

As an added bonus, it even comes with an in-built 10-minute stop timer and heater, the latter of which catapults the device from a mere convenience to a straight-up godsend. When used in tandem with the massage protocols, it can even be used to warm up your hands and encourage blood flow before you start playing or working, and that is certainly well-appreciated. After all, many people, myself included spend the better half of their day in a chilly air-conditioned room or office space working on the computer, and in such cases, there's nothing more disruptive than a hand full of numb or shivering digits.

Unfortunately, the Hand Massager is currently only available via the aforementioned Japanese site, and with a price tag hovering just around the US$150 range, it's not exactly the cheapest thing out there. Still, I think such products are well worth the money you spend on them, especially in the long term - finger aches are just one of those little pain-in-the-behind problems I'd rather not deal with if I can help it.
