Base model of iPhone 8 to be priced at US$999?
Apple is rumored to be placing a premium price tag on the iPhone 8 due to the advanced technologies and features in the device. So far, Goldman Sachs analyst Simona Jankowski and Fast Company have shared their predictions. The New York Times (NYT) is the latest party to chime in.
Citing information from its sources, the NYT claims that the iPhone 8 will be priced "at around US$999". Based on current currency exchange rates, the base model of the iPhone 8 could cost S$1,360.
Since the iPhone 8 is reportedly coming in three storage options, Apple blogger John Gruber believes the higher storage capacity models will be priced at US$1,099 (~S$1,496)and US$1,199 (~S$1,632) respectively. The current iPhone 7 Plus is priced at S$1,248 (32GB), S$1,418 (128GB) and S$1,588 (256GB).
If true, be prepared to fork out at least S$100 more for the iPhone 8 although you might be getting double the storage capacity. Apple is likely to be unveiling the new iPhones on 12th September.
