Bang & Olufsen launches S$1,200 Beoremote Halo remote control for speakers

Bang & Olufsen launched the Beoremote Halo, a remote control for Beolab speakers. It costs S$1,200. While the Beoremote Halo feels expensive, it's also not just any remote.

B&O's Beoremote Halo is both a sculptural statement piece for the home and a control pad with many hidden controls. For instance, the crafted aluminium ring grants the Beoremote Halo its futuristic aesthetic while doubling up as volume control operated by haptic feedback. The 800 x 340 pixels resolution LCD touchscreen automatically lights up when the user places a hand near the display.

Besides the typical track and song controls, the Halo also packs four 'favourites' button for jumping between a chosen Internet radio station, Spotify, Deezer, and TuneIn. To turn off all music in the house, press the standby button. Since it has all these options built in, the Beoremote Halo doesn't require pairing to an app or mobile device for songs.

The Beoremote Halo can be placed on a desk or mounted onto a wall, although B&O recommends getting the local store to assist with the latter. Included with the remote is a 1m USB-A to USB-C cable for power. If that's not to your liking, it can also be battery-operated and has Qi wireless charging too.

The remote connects directly with the following B&O products:

  • Beovision Eclipse
  • Beovision Harmony
  • Beosound Stage
  • Beosound 1 (1 & 2nd Gen.)
  • Beosound 2 (1 & 2nd Gen.)
  • Beoplay A9 (2nd, 3rd and 4th Gen.)
  • Beoplay M3
  • Beoplay M5
  • Beoplay A6
  • Beosound Edge
  • Beosound 35
  • Beosound Essence 2nd Gen

To connect to Beolab speakers (e.g. Beolab 90, Beolab 50, Beolab 18) and the Beosound Shape architectural speakers, it requires the Beosound Core connectivity hub.

Beoremote Halo comes in natural brass tone, and bronze-tone anodised aluminium colourways. It is available now at Bang & Olufsen Grand Hyatt flagship store in Singapore. The official product page sits here.
