Avita notebooks to get security boost with Jasmy joint venture
Following a joint venture announcement between Avita and Japan-based Jasmy, Avita has followed up by announcing the intention to include Jasmy’s Secure IoT technology and solutions into Avita’s existing line-up of consumer notebooks as well as looking at the development of new business notebooks with Secure PC devices and solution, with Device as a Service (DaaS) solutions built-in.
Some of the possible Jasmy solutions to be included cover:
- Data Democracy: where all of the company’s data is accessible to all employees and stakeholders
- Jasmy Secure PC: a solution for data breaching prevention and performance management by installing a free or paid agent programme in computer terminals. The Agent supports log collection, encrypted drive management, and connection management with external devices. The Manager utilises the information obtained from the Agent to remotely control devices via the Agent.
- Ghost drive: an encrypted secure data area managed by Jasmy Secure PC agent. The area can only be accessed under certain conditions with the data on the ghost drive protected even if the computer is lost.
Notebooks including these solutions could be the start of a new line of business-targeted notebooks for SOHOs and SMBs.
More than consumer solutions
Even as it retains and improves its consumer-facing technology, Avita will work with blockchain and IoT solutions provider, Jasmy, to develop fintech and IoT solutions built around blockchain technology.
