Avengers: Endgame is returning to theaters with new post-credits scenes.

Marvel Studios co-president Kevin Feige said that a new version of Endgame will be shown in studios next weekend.

He clarified that it wasn't an extended cut but that it will have new scenes at the end.

Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.

A release next weekend (June 28 in this case) will tie in nicely with Marvel's next movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, which opens locally on 2 July.

The rerelease will also give Endgame another shot at breaking the all-time box office record held by Avatar. So far, Endgame has grossed about US$2.74 billion, which makes it about US$45 million short of the all-time record.

So close yet so far.
