Audio Technica takes the ATH-M50x wireless as the ATH-M50xBT
Audio Technica's ATH-M50x is well known to audio enthusiasts as a standard for quality sound. These were designed as professional studio monitor headphones with swiveling ear cups so you can listen to what's playing with one ear while mixing the feed in real time. The latest version of the ATH-M50x is the ATH-M50xBT, and as the name implies, the new model gains Bluetooth capabilities so you'll have less cables to deal with on the road.
The ATH-M50xBT again uses 45mm large aperture drivers, giving it the same frequency range of 15Hz to 28kHz. Rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils are also carried over from the ATH-M50x, so you should get pretty much the same sound signature as before.
Bluetooth 5.0 and compatibility with both aptX and AAC codecs ensure that your music still sounds good wirelessly .The headphone has a battery life of up to 40 hours on a full charge, and of course wired mode is an option if the battery does run low. The fold-flat design with 90-degree swiveling ear cups has also been carried over to the new headphones too, but you will now find controls on the left ear cup so you can take calls without having to dig out your phone.
Music playback and volume controls can also be found here. There will also be a touch control for easy access to your phone's smart assistant, and the headphone is compatible with the Audio Technica Connect app for added features and tools. The ATH-M50xBT comes with a 1-foot USB charging cable, detachable 3.9-foot cable with mic for wired operation, a handy carrying pouch and a 3.5 mm to ¼-inch adapter.
It's available now at all major retailers for S$288.00.
