ASUS' latest ZenBook Duo 14 (UX482) with ScreenPad Plus now available in Singapore

The latest ASUS' "miniature" ZenBook Duo has now landed in Singapore and the enhancements it packs could likely improve the uptake of dual-screen notebooks in 2021.

When the first 14-inch dual-screen notebook in the form of the ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 (UX481) launched in 2019, we were skeptical if it would even make sense for that screen size. However, our mindset changed the minute we handled and tested the notebook. The compact and portable nature of the notebook and packing dual screens is really useful for those who are strapped for real estate and could use the secondary screen to offload controls, tools, monitoring options and more while one works away on the main screen.

A brand new hinge system now affords the ZenBook Duo 14 an automatically tilting secondary screen, just like its more expensive and larger counterparts.

The recent CES 2021 digital show ASUS putting out a whole slew of ZenBook options for the new year and the updated ZenBook Duo 14 (UX482) brings some really nice touches we've come to expect from their higher-end offerings down to a mainstream portable package.

Now with Intel's latest Tiger Lake processor Core i7-1165G7 processor, 16GB of low-power DDR4X memory, 1TB NVMe PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSD and an NVIDIA GeForce MX450 GPU - it packs all this in a pretty thin profile of just 16.9mm, which is a drastic reduction of 22mm on the predecessor. At just 1.6kg in weight and still boasting full-width dual-screen displays - both of which are touchscreen now and the secondary screen now tilts for better visibility - the notebook boasts impressive specs in a such a portable form factor. Intel Evo certified for responsive and long-lasting battery life (more than 10 hours in real-world usage), the UX482 could well be the most qualified portable productivity and creative companion's tool.

Oh, and did we mention it has two Thunderbolt 4 certified USB-C ports? Don't forget to find out more about this one-of-a-kind notebook in our hands-on testing.

We guessed that the new ZenBook Duo 14 would be pricier than its first-gen brother, but with all the upgrades it packs, its asking price of S$2,598 is quite reasonable. It's currently available exclusively on the ASUS online store.
