ASUS has just announced that it updated its UX305 Ultrabooks with Intel's latest fifth generation Core processors.

The UX305 Ultrabook was introduced earlier this year, but back then it was only available with Intel's Core M processors. These new models powered by Intel's new Core i5 and Core i7 "Broadwell" processors will be able to provide more computing power.

However, size and weight has been sacrificed a little. The earlier models powered by the Intel Core M processors weighed just 1.2kg and was only 12.3mm thick. These newer models are slightly thicker and heavier at 14.9mm thick and weighing 1.3kg.

On a more positive note, thanks to the more powerful processors, these UX305 models will also have upgraded specifications. Its 13.3-inch display, for instance, will now offer QHD resolution or 3200 x 1800 pixels. They will also be available with up to 256GB of SSD storage.

Prices for these will begin at S$1398 fore the Core i5 variant, whereas the Core i7 model will top out at S$1698.
